Postgraduate Qualification in Commissioning and Purchasing for London (London Councils)
The London Centre of Excellence recently merged with London's improvement body - Capital Ambition - and London Connects, to form London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (IEP). The new organisation retains the name Capital Ambition, and is responsible for all former LCE projects.
A website is being created for the new Capital Ambition, but in the meantime this site continues to be updated with all the latest information on this project, as well as important legacy documents.
The project, Postgraduate Qualification in Commissioning and Purchasing for Primary Health, Social Care and Housing in London, will strengthen commissioning capacity across London at a regional, sub-regional and local level. It will focus on joint commissioning as a key tool to achieving long term service reconfiguration across health, housing and social care. It involves establishing a Postgraduate Certificate Course for London commissioning, contracting or procurement staff in health, social care and housing agencies (including Supporting People) to develop the skills to commission services effectively. Benefits include establishing common methodologies and approaches to commissioning between health and the local authority and the provision of a skills base for joint commissioning. The project bid was approved by the LCE Management Board on 17 March 2005 is currently developing training courses for delivery.
