New Bids for funding
The LCE Management Board is always interested in receiving new bids for funding to support new projects. These can be from councils or the wider London public sector. Clearly, we cannot guarantee to fund all of them as we have limited resources and differing priorities. However, the LCE is determined to ensure that London leads the way on innovation as well as making a positive contribution to delivering the efficiency and improvement agenda.
As a quick guide, your exemplar bid should:
- Have direct links with the objectives and themes of the Comprehensive Spending Review 2007:
- Business process improvement
- Use of technology
- Collaboration between public bodies
- Smarter procurement, enhanced competition
- Asset management
- Workforce and skills development, innovation
- Have well defined deliverables that are 'portable' to others in London (inc wider public sector)
- Show support and sponsorship from the CEO at the lead borough. There should also be active support from other boroughs with evidence that they will use the results and outputs from the work, not just find it interesting!
- Provide a business case for the work where the project is likely to exceed £200k over three years. We can also fund the preparation of a business case if a concept seems sound at face value, but lacks the supporting research. This is usually in the £20k to £30k range.
The relevant templates and details on how to submit a bid to the LCE can be found on the Programme and Project Management page of this site.
