Collaboration in Foster Care Pilot (LB Brent)

The London Centre of Excellence recently merged with London's improvement body - Capital Ambition - and London Connects, to form London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (IEP). The new organisation retains the name Capital Ambition, and is responsible for all former LCE projects.

A website is being created for the new Capital Ambition, but in the meantime this site continues to be updated with all the latest information on this project, as well as important legacy documents.

Aims

The objectives of the north-west London fostering consortium are to:

  • Increase the quality of foster care placements through better training and preparation of foster carers
  • Enable local authorities to pool foster carers, ensure appropriate foster placements and make full use of spare capacity
  • Provide better and more cost-effective training for foster carers and social workers by delivering some courses on a consortium-wide basis
  • Explore publicity and marketing opportunities, to run alongside existing local strategies.
