About the Toolkit


Background to the Toolkit

The Office Accommodation Toolkit has been produced by the Strategic Property Consultancy (SPC) business unit of GVA Grimley Ltd, on behalf of the London Centre of Excellence (LCE). The Toolkit has initially been produced for London's 32 boroughs; however, the potential exists for this scope to be widened to cover all U.K councils. The fundamental aim of the Toolkit is to help London's boroughs take a more corporate approach to the asset management of their property portfolio. Specifically, it is a guidance tool for any council wishing to undertake a 'rationalisation' of their portfolio.

The Toolkit provides a holistic examination of the rationalisation process, allowing for a structured and methodical approach to a given project. Creating this practical communication flow within a project allows both cost and time savings to be achieved.

Council officers involved in an office accommodation project will inevitably find elements of the Toolkit highly relevant and practical to their individual discipline and project task.
