Highways Market Engagement Exercise

This exercise aimed to inform contractors, designers, manufacturers and suppliers, of Croydon’s intention to improve the sustainability of the Minor Highway Works contract and to identify sustainable alternatives to materials and operations.

As part of the market engagement, a PIN was issued to provide advance warning of the contract renewal, Croydon's expectation that contractors will support their intention to improve sustainability, and to request information from suppliers of sustainable and innovative products.

Out of the 31 excellent responses received to the PIN, 21 were recognised as relevant to the contract and were invited to attend the Meet the Buyer event.  The Centre for Sustainability at the Transport Research Laboratory were commissioned to review the responses for the Minor Highways contract.
