Local Authority Working Group
Representatives from highways' departments of several London Boroughs have met to collaborate on implementing sustainability into Croydon’s Minor Highway Works contract. The group is providing guidance on procurement strategies, PQQ questions and tender evaluation criteria.
DTI/DEFRA Forward Commitment Procurement
The primary focus of updating the Schedule of Rates for the contract led to a partnership with the DTI/DEFRA Forward Commitment Procurement (FCP) project and the Highways Market Engagement exercise. Forward Commitment Procurement is a pioneering approach, taking forward one of the recommendations of the Sustainable Procurement Task Force. Run through DTI’s Environmental Innovations Advisory Group (EIAG), the FCP aims to demonstrate how to harness public sector procurement to create much needed innovative solutions for pressing environmental issues.
