Interim Improvement and Efficiency Strategy for London

The central/local national efficiency strategy was published on 21 December 2007 - setting out a framework for improvement and efficiency work over the next three years.

This means work that will continue to be carried out at a national level and also by the new Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnerships.

The RIEPs will consist of the existing Regional Improvement Partnerships (RIPs) and Regional Centres of Excellence. London's RIEP will retain the Capital Ambition brand and operate within the London Councils organisation. The existing boards of Capital Ambition (London's RIP) and the London Centre of Excellence (LCE) are merging to form the new programme board. This takes effect on 1 April 2008.

Discussions are ongoing with London Connects, to establish the best route for the integration of regional e-government work.
