Get involved
The London Centre of Excellence has merged with London's improvement body - Capital Ambition - and London Connects, to form London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (IEP). The new organisation retains the name Capital Ambition, and is responsible for all former LCE projects. To get involved in the latest developments, please see the Capital Ambition website.
A website is being created for the new Capital Ambition, but in the meantime this site continues to be updated with all the latest information, as well as important legacy documents.
The London Centre of Excellence operated until April 2008, as a catalyst for radical change for improving efficiency and promoting collaborative working.
It worked in partnership with participating authorities to deliver an agreed work programme within available resources.
Many public sector organisations in London were involved, with all boroughs either laeding a project or on the board of one.
This was achieved in a number of ways:
- By boroughs or organisations actively becoming involved with an LCE project or serivce. Although this informaiton is being transferred to a new website, details are still available under our LCE Projects section. Capital Ambition still offers funding for projects.
- Boroughs senht examples of best practice development to lcpe@londoncouncils.gov.uk which was then shared with the London public sector.
- By working with existing networks and groups such as London Contracts and Supplies Group and the Society of London Treasurers to ensure that collaboration between boroughs has started tobecome an accepted norm.
- By passing on details of this site, the latest developments for the Improvment and Efficiency Partnership and our newsletter to colleagues in service departments.
- By responding positively to requests for information from other boroughs on issues such as supplier performance, costs, market intelligence and invitations to work collaboratively in order to improve the quality of services delivered while reducing costs.
