Development of Shared Services for South London

The London Centre of Excellence recently merged with London's improvement body - Capital Ambition - and London Connects, to form London's Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (IEP). The new organisation retains the name Capital Ambition, and is responsible for all former LCE projects.

A website is being created for the new Capital Ambition, but in the meantime this site continues to be updated with all the latest information on this project, as well as important legacy documents.

The LCE Management Board approved funding for the project in September 2007.  RB Kingston-upon-Thames is the lead authority for the project.

The project aims:

  • to significantly reduce the cost of corporate 'back office' and transactional services in the public sector whilst at the same time improving the quality and reliability of the services provided;
  • to develop an environment of continuous improvement and maintain accountability for excellence, service delivery and transparency of performance within the indiviudal organisations;
  • to increase sustainability and resilience in all service areas; and
  • to continue to ensure that services are efficient.

In addition to the RB Kingston-upon-Thames, the following boroughs are sponsoring this project:

  • LB Croydon
  • LB Wandsworth
  • LB Bromley
  • LB Merton
  • LB Sutton
  • LB Richmond-upon-Thames
