Partners in Parking (PiP) is led by the City of Westminster in partnership with Transport for London, LB Camden, City of London, LB Islington, LB Lambeth and RB Kensington & Chelsea. Another five boroughs are also looking to join in the near future.
PiP became a formal cross-authority partnership on 1 April 2007, when a Partnership Board was formally constituted with nominated elected members leading it. It is also supported by a Management Committee of senior officers.
PiP is collaborating to harmonise parking equipment, services, controls and practices so that there is a more consistent customer experience both within areas covered by individual authorities, and across boundaries with others. It is intended that evolving PiP specifications become the de facto standard for London through the ongoing work of the Partnership.
PiP procurements deliver cashable savings to its partners through the buying power of group procurements.
Through a combination of standardised specifications and group procurements PiP is influencing markets and making them more receptive to its needs and those of its customers.
