Strategic Supplier Engagement
The need to identify and target strategic suppliers (measured by risk and value) for ongoing cost reduction and service improvement is very evident. In many boroughs, 20 to 50 suppliers (out of an average of 7,000 per borough) can account for up to 80% of influenceable third party expenditure. This paper looks at the techniques needed to accelerate the engagement programme and flags issues that are likely to cause problems.
