LGE e-alert: Workforce issues in shared services
In partnership with the IDeA, the LGE has developed a new web-based resource that provides practical guidance on the workforce implications of setting up shared services.
"Shared services" describes a variety of arrangements in which a service provider delivers services for a group of local authorities and/or other public sector bodies.
The resource can be found on the IDeA Knowledge website.
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has published a guide to measuring and reporting efficiency gains that sets out all the basic information required by a local authority in order to complete an Annual Efficiency Statement.

Audit Commission - Improvement Networks

The Improvement and Development Agency (I&DeA) has published an online toolkit to help local authorities and other public sector organisations establish strong project and programme management skills.
