Useful Information:

• Power factor correction for unmetered supplies  (237KB) An environmental discussion document prepared by the Yorkshire and Lancashire Lighting Engineers Group.
• Electricity Central Online Enquiry Service. A web based viewer enabling various parties to check Meter Point Administration Numbers (MPANs), Meter Serial Numbers, addresses and other data such as contact details, registration history, related metering points, and date of meter installation.
• Sustainable Procurement Task Force report. The National Action Plan of the Sustainable Procurement Task Force: 'Procuring the Future', which delivered its findings and recommendations on 12 June 2006. Energy is one of the priority areas identified in the report.

  Web portal offering public sector organisations access to pan-government procurement of PC power management and other IT software solutions and services.
• Energy Measures Report
  This 2007 report published by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform sets out the steps local authorities can take to improve energy efficiency, increase levels of microgeneration and low carbon technologies, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce fuel poverty.
• Partnerships for Renewables
  This Carbon Trust enterprise works with the public sector to develop and manage onsite renewable energy projects.
  
  

Funding Opportunities

• Energy Saving Trust funding database. The database contains a range of energy efficiency and renewable energy grants from a variety of organisations.
• Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2. Grants for the installation of microgeneration technologies are available to public sector buildings (including schools, hospitals, housing associations and local authorities) and charitable bodies. Applications are now being accepted.
• Salix Finance. Funding for public sector projects to reduce carbon emissions.
• Making energy efficiency and low carbon improvements (139KB). This document details approaches to energy effeciency measures and low carbon improvements, and identifies funding opportunities.
